The Conduct of a Citizen of Heaven (Phil. 1:27-30)

This week we will be finishing up Philippians chapter 1. In our text, Paul tells us how a citizen of heaven should conduct him or herself. He not only gives us a couple of duties to follow but he also gives us a word of comfort. This word of comfort may strike us as a bit odd. He says that suffering is a sign of our salvation and is a gift! Can you think of a particular act in history that was, at the same time, a great act of suffering but also a marvelous gift?

I. Stand Firm in Faith

II. Strive for the Faith

III. Comfort in Suffering
